I am a certified leadership coach through The Townsend Leadership Program, led by Dr. John Townsend. TLP consists of a team of high capacity leaders and leverages the power of the group to achieve personal goals.
TLP is a one year leadership cohort, meeting for a full-day (in person) session once per month.
The process includes:
Goal Setting
Members establish both personal and professional goals for the program: character traits and leadership skills to develop and specific challenges to conquer. These goals provide the structure for the entire TLP experience.
Exclusive Training
Each monthly meeting includes a video-based leadership training from Dr. Townsend, followed by group discussion. Topics are relevant to both professional and personal leadership: character, performance, conflict, and more.
Work Group
Twice each year, members present to their cohort a key issue they’re facing in their business or personal life. Members ask clarifying questions and offer recommendations for increased levels of professional or personal functioning and problem solving.
Personal Coaching
Members have an opportunity to have a face-to-face (or by phone) meeting with Ben to continue the growth trends identified in the day-long sessions.
Peer to Peer Help
With the help of the TLP Director and other group members, participants design homework assignments based on their specific goals and the month’s teaching. Accountability partners ensure the growth and development process continues.
Monthly Review
Since TLP is an actionable program designed to get measurable results, each monthly meeting begins with a homework roundtable. Each member shares their progress toward goals for the purposes of accountability and support.
Interactive Group Setting
Many leaders don’t have opportunities to engage with other high-capacity individuals who get them. These sessions offer a safe and confidential space in which TLP members can be honest about their challenges—and receive feedback, clarity, and solutions.
